Go/No-Go test

Reaction Control

Respond fast to the target shape and hold back when it is not the target. Trains attention held over time and the brake on an automatic response.

How to play Reaction Control

Response inhibition

Press for the target. Do nothing for anything else.

  • A single shape appears in the middle of the screen.
  • Press when it matches the target rule shown before the set.
  • Do nothing at all when it does not match. Holding back is the harder half.

Controls

  • Space / Enter Respond to a target
  • Tap Tap the stimulus or the large button

What Reaction Control measures

A go/no-go task. It asks you to keep a simple response ready over a long run of trials and then withhold it on a minority of trials. It measures how often you respond when you should not (commission errors) and how often you miss a target (omission errors).

Headline measure: Median reaction time (ms)

What does the score mean?

Your score describes how you did on this task, on this day, at this difficulty. It is not an IQ score, a percentile or a medical measure. The headline number here is median reaction time. Scores compare you with your own earlier sets, never with other people. Read more on what the exercises measure.
